WILLEVER Jan 29,1909-Nov 9, 2001 HOWARD Y. "JOHN" WILLEVER 92 of Washington died Friday, Nov 9, in his home. He was a Construction engineer for the McDonald Construction Co. of Chicago until his retirement 26 yrs ago. Born Jan 29, 1909, in Belvidere he was a son of the late HOWARD L. and ANNIE YOUNG WILLEVER. He resided in Belvidere and Washington most of his life, but worked all over the world for McDonald Construction. He was a member of the first Methodist Church of Port Colden in Port Colden' He served with the Navy Seabees during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Belvidere Ambulance Corps., a 50 year member of the Belvidere Warren Lodge No 13 Free and Accepted Masons, the Belvidere American Legion Post No, 131 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No.10299 in Oxford Township. On May 28, 1997, he served as grand marshal of the Memorial Day Parade. His wife of 63 yrs, the former NORA RONOSKI, died in 1992. A sister, EVA GARES of Phillipsburg and several nieces and nephews survive him. Four brother's SAMUEL, JASPER, LESTER, ALFRED, and two sisters MARY COOPER, MYRTLE LOCKARD, all died earlier. Services will be held at 11a.m. Monday in the DeVoe Funeral Service, 136 W.Washington Ave., Washington. Call from 10 a.m. To time of services. Burial will be in the Belvidere Cemetery.
