  Henry Major,an old resident of Oxford Township,died at his residance near 
Buttzville on the 27th just.Mr Major had been in delicate health for years,
but his death was at last sudden and unexpected.The day before his death he 
was about the house as usual.He was a local preacher and was a man of 
considerable natural talent.His zeal for the cause of religion and temperance 
was unabated.For about fifty years he redided in the vicinty of Buttzville.
During most of his time he was engaged in farming.His funeral took place at 
the M.E.Church at Buttzyville,on Wed afternoon of this week;and was largely 
attended.
