BERNALILLO COUNTY - MILO M HOWE OBITUARY The Farmville (Va) Herald, 07 Jan 1893 -- Obituary From the Albuquerque (N.M.) Daily Citizen) -- Milo M. Howe, whose death occurred at the family residence north of this city on Wednesday, November 23rd, and which was chronicled in The Citizen of that date, was born in Elba, Genesee county, N.Y., Dec. 21, 1823. He had six brothers and two sisters. Two of his brothers entered the Methodist ministry and both of these survive him; the other brothers are deceased. He was married to Mary E. Huxford, Feb. 23rd, 1854. To them were born two sons and two daughters, all of whom survive him. The younger son who lived with his parents, and the daughters, Mrs. Brown; of Farmville, Va., and Mrs. Fish, of Chicago, Ill., were present at the funeral. The other son, who resides at Legonier, Ind., was prevented from being present by the serious illness of his wife. Mr. Howe removed from New York to Michigan, where he resided for a number of years, coming to Albuquerque in 1881, as he did, at the very beginning of our city's existence, he became widely known and was universally respected. His sickness was long continued, but he was not entirely incapacitated from attending to his business until within two weeks of his death. His funeral took place from the family residence, Rev. A. W. Adkinson, Pastor of Lead Avenue Methodist church, assisted by Rev. A. B. Cristy, pastor of the Congregational church, and Rev. Mr. Clayton, of the Methodist church, south, at Los Cerrillos, conducted the services. The large company of neighbors and friends who were present testified to the esteem in which Mr. Howe was held. The family have the hearty sympathy of the entire community.
