Pop 550. Chaves county. An incorporated town on the A T & S F Ry 23 miles, s of Roswell the county seat. The surrounding country is devoted to stock raising, wool, alfalfa and fruit growing there being 15,000 acres of fine farming land under irrigation. Hagerman affords excellent openings for commercial and industrial enterprises. Has Baptist, Christian, Presbyterian, Methodist, Catholic and Adventist churches, fine schools, a bank, an alfalfa mill and 2 hotels. Principal shipments are alfalfa, hay and live stock.
