I don't know the name of this cemetery, however, because of its proximity to the community of Lakewood, I am calling it the Lakewood Cemetery. This cemetery is in the Seven Rivers area and is located off Highway 285. It can be seen from the highway and the entrance is also off the highway. From Carlsbad this cemetery is about 16.2 miles north of the city limits. It is a very old and run down cemetery. There are many un-named sites and many that the names can no longer be read. Many of the graves are only marked with a wooden cross, some of which, once had names and dates carved into the wood. Many sites are known to exist based on settling in the ground but will never be known again.
