Arthur V. Pue Sr. Born in Orange, NM May 9, 1905, died Nov 4, 1978.

Pue cemetery is located about a block or so north of the Pue Ranch House.  The 
Ranch House is located on Highway 31 on the Quahada Ridge just between two mines, 
U.S. Mine and I.M.C.C.

The following was written by Ruth (Smith) Pue:

Arthur V. Pue Sr. born May 9, 1905 Orange, NM.  As you know it was a territory 
then.  He is buried here on Ranch.  Art was working for local ranchers when we 
married April 16, 1928.

Then he worked on ranch for a year or two for my dad.  We lived on the flats my 
dad lived in the mountains on Kueykindall Ranch.  Then Art went to work for State 
Highway Dept. which was about 1930 or 31. Then he went to work for US Potash Co in 
about 1932.  Then he homesteaded this place about 1933.  I think we moved on it 
shortly after in tent.  He worked for US for 5 years.

Then later he worked for P.C.A. about 5 years.  He had cattle on this place all of 
the time since homesteaded it.

He spent rest of years looking after cattle and Ranch.

Father - ARTHUR VENTRESS PUE Born May 9, 1905 Died Nov 4, 1978 Born in Orange, NM 		
	 Otero County.

Mother - RUTH NORMA (SMITH) PUE Born Feb. 20, 1911 born Pecos, Texas Married April 
	 16, 1928 in 	 Carlsbad, NM

Son - 	 ARTHUR V. PUE JR. Born April 3, 1933 Died Aug 22, 1966 Victim of a very 
	 bad flood in 	 Carlsbad Area.

Dau -	 NORMA LEE (PUE) WATTS Born Sept. 21, 1930

On April 16, 1978 Art and Ruth celebrated their 50th Wed. Annv.

Arthur homesteaded his ranch on the Quahada Ridge in 1932 S.E. 1/4 of Sec. 25 R29E 
T21S Just off Hi-way 31 in between the Old U.S. Potash Mine and I.M.C.C Mine.  Art 
worked a while at the Old U.S. Potash Mine.

Arthur's folks came from Bandera Co. Texas their names were William Arthur Pue and 
Salina (Lewis) Pue.  She was Denmon Lewis's sister.  W.A.P.'s mother's name was 
Minear.

Note:  C-A of April 11, 1971 says Joseph Arthur Pue married Yvonne Kay Woodrow at 
the Otis Baptist Church.  Tommy Lawson tied the knot.  J.A.P. is the Son of the 
Late Arthur V. Pue.

I was told that the original Pue's came from Pennsylvania and settled in Bandera 
Co., Texas. Most likely of French Decent.
