Forister, 67, died on October 8 at Kenneland Nursing Home in Weatherford. She was born on January 27, 1932, in Wellington, Tex., to Allen Preston Birdwell and Mary Lois (Teague) Birdwell. She married Bennie Forister on June 17, 1948, in Carlsbad, NM. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1967. She was a Baptist, a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Girl Scouts. She is survived by her mother, Mary Lois Birdwell of Oregon; son, Bennie Forister, JR. of San Mateo, Calif.; daughters Phyllis Ann Farthing of Midland, Tex., and Linda Jo Gomillion of Weatherford, Tex.; brother Jerry Donald Birdwell of Fort Sumner; sister Mary Beth Hicks of Graham, Tex.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; and a daughter, Alva Jean Forister.
