From: patti pennington ************************************************************ The following excerpts were taken from page 8 - The Artesia (NM) Daily Press - November 2, 1999 JOHNSTON Memorial services are November 7, at the Orange United Methodist Church, in Orange, Calif., for former Artesia resident Victor Harold "Vick" Johnston, of Orange, Calif. Johnston, 94, died on October 28. Interment is to be at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He was born on January 20, 1905, near Blackwell, to George Jason and Dora Elizabeth Smith Johnston. He married Susie Antrim Barnett on December 24, 1930, in Dodge City, Kansas. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife; sons Theron Scott Johnston and Roger Alan Johnston, both of Orange, and Kevin Lyle Johnston of Evanston, Ill.; brother Fred Johnston of Ontario, Calif.; sister Nedra Field of Tulsa, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and one great- granchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Dean Johnston.
