From: patti pennington ************************************************************ The following excerpts were taken from page 10 - The Artesia (NM) Daily Press - November 5, 1999 PENNINGTON Services are scheduled for November 6, at West Main Baptist Church in Artesia for L.V. Pennington of Carlsbad, NM. Pennington, 73, died on November 3 at Brownfield Medical Center in Brownfield, Texas. Interment will follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Park in Artesia. He was born on January 16, 1926, in Blackwell, Texas, to William Jefferson Pennington and Fannie Jane Hedgpeth Pennington. He served in the US Army during WWII in the Philippines and Germany. He married Mildred Fay Standard on February 8, 1947. They lived in Artesia for two years, then moved to Loco Hills, NM, where they lived for 25 years, before moving to Carlsbad in 1974. He was a member of Loco Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Pennington of Carlsbad; sons Milton Pennington, Leo Pennington and Tony Pennington, all of Artesia; daughters Brenda Frederick, Caroly Menzdorf and Becky Pennington, all of Carlsbad; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
