A graveside service will be held February 11 at Gardens of Memory in Stephenville, Texas. He died February 8 at his daughter's home. Denton-Funchess Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born June 8, 1903, in Kaufman County, TX, to W.A. Cunningham and Molly Elizabeth Faires Cunningham. He grew up in Ellis County, Texas, and was a farmer. He married Ruby Lois Davis. They moved to Alpine, Texas, in 1959. They lived in Stephenville, Texas until about 1978 where he farmed and raised cattle. In 1978, they moved to Carlsbad. He became a resident of Lakeview Christian Home of the Southwest, Northgate Unit in 1996. He was preceded in death by five brothers, five sisters, an infant daughter, Vernell Cunningham, a daughter, Patricia Bascom, and his wife in 1975. Survivors include a son, Sammy D. Cunningham of Sacramento, Calif.; daughter, H. Latrell Kidd of Carlsbad; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. (Photo shown of Cunningham)
