Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery. She died January 15 at Lakeview Christian Home, Northgate Unit, following a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's disease. West Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born September 25, 1929, to Lucian and Johnnie V. Fletcher in Loving, NM, where she grew up. She graduated from Carlsbad High School. She married Frank Albert Forni Sr., the same year she graduated, 1949. She and Frank made their home at the family home of Fred Forni on what was known originally as the Poteet Farm, near Otis, NM. Frank died on August 8, 1960. She married Leon J. Frerich in July of 1961. He died on July 18, 1987. She was a long-time member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by both her husbands; three sons, Frederick Thomas Forni, Frank Albert Forni Sr. and Johnny Ray Forni; and her mother, Johnnie V. Fletcher. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Bill and Donna Estes of Albuquerque, NM, and Beth and Mike Ackman of Carlsbad; her father, Lucian Thomas Fletcher of Artesia; four brothers, Loy and B.L. (Cuck) both of Artesia, Bob of Las Vegas and Ray of Farmington, NM; 10 grand- children; and four great-grandchildren. (Photo shown of Frerich)
