Hesler, 81, of Pensacola, Fla., on February 12 at First Baptist Church in Carlsbad. Hesler died February 6 at his home in Pensacola after a bout with cancer. Casket Galleria of Pensacola is in charge of arrangements. He was born John P. "Jack" Hesler on January 14, 1919, in Glencoe, Ill., to George W. and Rose Anna Petticlair Hesler. He graduated from Texas College of Mines and Metallurgy (UTEP) in 1941 as a mining engineer. He served as a captain in the USAAF in Indonesia and China. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Morrison Hesler of Pensacola; sons, Ronald Hesler of Jakarta, Indonesia, and Stephen Hesler of Pensacola; daughter, Pamela Jo Hesler of Decatur, Ga.; five grandchildren; and several sisters.
