Hamblen, 90, died December 31, at Canterbury Villa Nursing Home. West Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born September 30, 1909, in Carlsbad, to Robert Naylor and Netta Priscilla Cocker Hamblen. He attended school in Carlsbad and graduated with the class of 1927. He married Glodie Joyce Riodan on October 18, 1927, in Carlsbad. He was a charter member of Epworth Methodist Church. He lived in Carlsbad until eight years ago when he moved to Hobbs, NM, and then to Denver City, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glodie Joyce Hamblen in 1983. Survivors include a son, Robert C. Hamblen of La Luz, NM; daughter, Judy Ann Findley of Gatesville, Texas; brother, Robert Brantley Hamblen of Silver City, NM; sister, Alva Ruth Burke of Carlsbad; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild.
