PETTES
Funeral services are scheduled for Roy G. Pettes, 57, on January 22
at First Assembly of God Church.  Interment will follow at Carlsbad
Cemetery.  Pettes, died January 19 at Covenant Medical Center in 
Lubbock, Texas.  Denton-Funchess Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.  He was born January 27, 1942, to James William "Bill"
and Lorene Gladys Journey Pettes in Carlsbad.  He grew up in West
Texas and eastern New Mexico, graduating from Carlsbad High School
in 1961.  He married Eva Lou Lambert on January 11, 1963, in Carlsbad.
He was a member of First Assembly of God.  Survivors include his
wife, Eva Pettes of Carlsbad; sons, Quintin Pettes and Blaine Pettes
of Carlsbad; daughter, Kina Vannatter of Carlsbad; sister, Linda
Letcher of Roswell; and seven grandchildren.  (Photo shown of Pettes)
