Submitted by: patti pennington ************************************************************ The following excerpts were taken from page 8 - The Artesia (NM) Daily Press - January 25, 2000 WILCOX Graveside services are scheduled for January 25, at Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia, for former Artesia resident Faye Grimlan Wilcox of Melrose, NM. Wilcox, 80, died on January 23 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM. She was born on August 11, 1919, in Crowell, Texas, to William Yearl Grimlan and Ellen C. (Gray) Grimlan. She married Curtis A. Wilcox on October 6, 1973, in Bellflower, California. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1991. She came to Artesia in 1932 from northern New Mexico and moved to California in 1959. She moved to Melrose 25 years ago. She was a Methodist. She is survived by sisters Lorene Smith of Amarillo, Texas, Mattie Crenshaw of Melrose and Jo Conner of Artesia; sister-in-law Ceigal Grimlan of Artesia; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Connie Conner, Perry Conner, LaVerne Gressett and Jean Ingram, all of Artesia. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
