PHIPPS/WALKER
Callie Phipps and Robby Wayne Walker were united in marriage
at First Baptist Church in Artesia, on July 31, 1999.  The 
bride is the daughter of Mike and Kathy Phipps of Artesia.
The groom is the son of Richard and Alice Walker of Rockport,
Texas.  Pastor Rick Sullivan of the First Baptist Church in
Artesia, officiated the ceremony.  The couple will reside in
Lubbock, Texas where they will finish their studies at Texas

Engagement
CHAVARRIA/BARNES
Marla M. Chavarria and James Michael Barnes of Grand Prairie,
Texas, are engaged to be married on September 25, 1999 at
West Main Baptist Church in Artesia.  She is the daughter of
George M. and Gloria Buechner of Yuma, Arizona, and Eli
Chavarria of Artesia.  He is the son of James and Jane Barnes
of Grand Prairie, Texas.  (Picture shown of couple)
