Dr. P. M. Steed passed Away Last Monday

Dr. Pinkney Minor Steed, 77, passed away Monday, October 18, at the family
residence on South Iron Avenue. 

Dr. Steed was born July 30 1866 in Saline county, Arkansas. He came to Deming in
1902 and began the practice of medicine here in 1903. He was member of the
Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge and had served on the City Council and
Deming School Board. He was Mayor of Deming from the year of 1932 to 1934.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Cora L. Steed, two daughters, Mrs. J.D. Clarkson,
Deming and Mrs. Rush Kelly, Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and four sons, John Steed of
Ardmore, Oklahoma, Dr. Frank Steed, San Antonio, Texas, Horace Steed, Kansas
City, Missouri and Private William Steed, U.S. Army.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Methodist
Church. Rev. Bryan Hall officiated. Burial was in Mountainview Cemetery.
