     An incorporated town in San Juan county, New Mexico. Terminus of the
     branch of the Denver & Rio Grande railroad running from Durango, 50
     miles south. Has six miles of cement sidewalk. The center of a
     district peculiarly adapted to fruit culture. Electric lights and
     water works, up-to-date schools and churches, and a population of
     1,200. Altitude 5280 feet.
