Boyce yesterday received a telegram stating that his son, Myron Augustus Boyce, was seriously ill with pneumonia at Las Vegas, New Mexico. The young man who is twenty-three years old, was formerly in the employ of the late firm of Miller & Sons of this place, and left this village in April 1878. Since that time has been in Kansas, Nebraska, and Texas, and about two months ago he located in New Mexico where he is now lying ill. This morning Officer Boyce received a dispatch from Dr. J. Seaverson communicating the sad intelligence that the young man died at 6:10a.m. today and inquiring what disposition should be made of the remains. They will probably be interred there. The shock is a severe one to the family and his death will be mourned by his many friends and acquaintances here.
