L. Polk (1912) HENRY PECK BARDSHAR. Henry Peck Bardshar. U. S. Internal Revenue Collector. Born April 6th, 1872, Castalia, Ohio. Son of William and Ruth Bardshar, merchant. Educated common schools and at Oberlin College, and Campbell College at Holton, Kansas. Studied mining engineering after coming West, 1890, to Prescott, Arizona. Practiced mining and mining engineering fifteen years there. In 1898 became member of Troop A Rough Riders and served throughout the Cuban campaign taking part in battles of Guasmas, El Paso and San Juan, with Col. Theodore Roosevelt, serving on the latter's staff. Returned to Arizona after close of the campaign and followed mining until appointed U. S. Collector of Internal Revenue in charge of the Federal Building, Santa Fe, N. M., July 1st, 1905, by President Theodore Roosevelt.
