Durning, daughter of Patrick Durning and Mary McFarland (McPharlin), both residing at Fort Marcy, have contracted matrimony in presence of Thomas Harley and Mrs. McCabe McDonough and I have blessed this union. Jules Deraches Additional Comments: This is the entry of marriage for Emanuel Oliver and Sarah Agnes Durning who were married in the Cathedral of Santa Fe, New Mexico, officially known today as the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. The first witness is Thomas Hanley (possibly Harley). As to the second witness or witnesses, the word before McCabe appears to be "Mes". This could be an abbreviation for the french "messieurs" which is normally abbreviated "messrs." So it seems most likely that these were two men, Mr. McCabe and Mr. McDonough. Another thought is Mrs. McCabe McDonough. The priest's name is Jules Deraches, who was born in France, and many references to him can be found online.
