Has Catholic and Methodist churches, 3 banks, 2 hotels, a broom factory, a U S land office, municipal water and light plants, a telephone system, 15 miles of cement sidewalks, fine brick school building, a beautiful court house and an unexcelled climate. Three weekly newspapers the News, Citizen and El Fenix, the latter a Spanish and English paper, are published. Clayton is surrounded by a rich agricultural and stock raising country.
