CASA COLORADO LAND GRANT
PETITION LIST OF THE ORIGINAL SETTLERS
JUNE 7, 1813

Jose Maria Perea, Rafael Perea, Antonio Torres, Dionicio Maldonado, Eugenio Varela,
Domingo Lucero, Vicente Torres, Juan de la Cruz Turrieta, Julian Sanchez, Aban Sanchez,
Miguel Archuleta, Gregorio Sedillo, Jose de Jesus Maldonado, Jose Sedillo, Miguel Lucero,
Rafael Sedillo, Guadalupe Perea (widower), Matilde Montoya Dimas, Cristobal Jaramillo,
Rafael Torres, Buenaventura Sanchez, Manuel Baca, Jose Baca, Antonio Jose Serna, Jose
Antonio Benavides, Carlos Baca, Juan Agustin Barela, Jose Maria Sedillo, Francisco Torres
Sedillo, Antonio Torres, Julian Benavides, Vicente Moya Tomas Benavides and Jose Gallegos.

The original grant consisted of 137, 199.37 acres, however all but a narrow strip of land
containing 21,689.6 acres on the east side of the grant were in conflict with the Belen
and Tome land grants. After years of litigation, the Casa Colorada grant was reduced to
21,689.6 acres, which paled when compared to its one time grandeur.
