Josie is survived by her 3 sisters; Cidia Trujillo and her husband, Albino Trujillo; Carmen Sanchez and her husband, Elfigo, and Rosie Leveque and her husband, Larry; her sister-in-law, Clarita Trujillo, wife of Josie's late brother Eulalio, who died on Feb. 19. Josie is also survived by her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many cousins, nephews, nieces and countless other relatives and friends. Josie was a devoted member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Throughout her many years as a parishioner, she had been an active member and volunteer of the Altar Society, Eucharistic League & Holy Hour, Eucharistic Minister, St. Vincent De Paul Society, Holy Name Society and the Spanish Choir. Josie's family said her life was a wonderful, true example of what a Christian is. She was in love with our Lord Jesus, and it showed through her devotion to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and Our Blessed Mother Mary through all her prayers and especially through the divine intervention of the holy rosary. She attended daily mass and Holy Hour visitations for many years with her husband, Luis. Josie was always giving of herself to others, her family said. Others always came first. Besides having a career as a terrific housewife, the best number one mom, grandma and great- grandma, she was a generous and giving volunteer. She volunteered her time by taking charge of distributing commodities for the southeast area for a great number of years. For many, many years she helped numerous elderly women with daily chores, doctor and grocery visits. Josie was also quite an artist at repairing and restoring religious statues and religious cloth paintings. As a meditation and hobby for numerous years, she enjoyed and loved the work she did on transforming broken --and sometimes unrecognizable - religious statues and paintings into their beautiful former images, often leaving them better than their original state. Her work can be seen, without one realizing it, in many homes and churches throughout New Mexico. Josie and Luis loved being outdoors, where they loved gardening vegetables, fruit and flowers. They loved camping and fishing, and they enjoyed visiting with family and friends. "Thanks Mom for being you!" her childrend said. "We will miss your tremendous sense of humor, your laugh and your beautiful smile. Thank you for all the wonderful stories that still make us laugh. We'll miss all the talks we shared. Thank you for all the conversations, your words of wisdom and teaching. Thank you for sharing all your religious experiences and miracles with us. In our eyes, you are truly a saint. We'll miss your warm, welcoming company. Thank you for all the love you constantly gave. We'll miss your spiritual example. Thank you for passing on your beautiful faith in God. We'll miss how you loved to hum and how extremely patient you were. Thank you for being you, the most beautiful woman we know! We love you, Mom - very, very, very much. Until we meet again Mom, Rest in Peace with the Lord." From all your children. Pallbearers are Josie's grandsons; Luis L. Molina, Felipe E.L. Dodge III, Andrew J. Mowrer 1924-2002 The death on April 28 of 78-year-old Sidney W. Mowrer left gaping emotional holes in many lives, many hearts. Survived by his spouse of 56 years, Marilyn, of North Fort Myers, Fla., there's a hole where a husband once was. Survived also by his two children, Michelle Kocic of Toledo, Ohio, and J. Reid Mowrer of Los Lunas, there are holes in these two lives, where a father once was. There are empty spaces as well in the lives of four grandchildren and one great- grandson who, at a mere three weeks of age, was able to be cradled in the arms of his great-grandpa before his passing. Finally, there are empty spaces in the hearts of many relatives and friends. As the kind and gentle man slipped into the arms of eternity, we will fill forever's vacuum of loss with a lifetime's flood of memories. Vigil was born in Tucumcari on July 28, 1951, to Manuel A. Gonzales and Mary (Casados) Gonzales. She was raised on the family ranch in Bueyeros, which she considered to be "God's country." She attended school at the Bueyeros School then transferred to the Clayton Schools, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Albino Vigil, on June 17, 1967, in Clayton. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1969. Adelina attended nursing school in Amarillo, Texas and worked for North West Texas Hospital. She then moved to Los Lunas and began work with Lovelace Medical Center where she worked for the past 26 years. She also worked for Presbyterian Urgent Care Center. Fourteen months ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and began the long process of fighting the dreaded disease. On April 18, she was informed that her fight was successful and the cancer was in remission. Adelina was a faithful and active parishioner who was involved in numerous parish organizations and activities. As a devout Catholic, she made Cursillo No. 163 and a special pilgrimage to the shrine of the Virgen de Guadalupe in Mexico City, who Adelina so deeply loved and honored. In addition, she was a member of the American Legion Post 99 Auxiliary in honor of her father, who was a World War II Veteran. Adelina will always be remembered by her family, friends and co-workers as an extremely compassionate and caring person whose main objective was always to help and comfort others in any way possible. Whether providing medical advice or care, cooking a hot meal for family, friends and half of Valencia County or offering a "cold Dr. Pepper" to a thirsty acquaintance, she was prone to extend a helping hand, putting her needs behind those of others. Her contagious laugh and generosity will be greatly missed.
