Prominent Fallon Rancher Killed by Bull. Fallon, Nv. Aug. 25 (special) George W. Lattin, one of the most prominent ranchers of the Fallon district, was killed at his ranch home here Tuesday night by a bull. He was in the corral with the cattle when the bull attacked him and struck him on the chest. He died almost instantly. A neighbor witnessed the tragedy and dragged Lattin from the corral and then summoned is wife, who in turn called a physician, but the man died before the physician arrived. Mr. Lattin had been a resident of Fallon since 1909, coming here from South Dakota and had been engaged in ranching. He was a graduate of Northwestern University law school, a classmade of William Jennings Bryan, and practiced law for twenty seven years in South Dakota before coming to Fallon. He served as county judge in South Dakota for a number of years and was a captain in company E, first South Dakota volunteers in the Spanish American war. Both Mr. and Mrs. Latin took an active part in local social and political affairs and are widely known throughout the county. Mrs. Lattin has been active in the affairs of W C T U, and served as state president for a number of terms. On July 25 of this year the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Besides his widow, Mr. Lattin leaves four sons, Ralph, Mark and Herbert of Fallon, and William Lattin, principal of a high school in Cleveland, O., and three daughters, Mrs. Mary Hollister of South Dakota, Mrs. Louis May of Rock Valley, Ia. and Mrs. Francis Harrison of Oakland, Cal. Eighteen grandchildren also survive. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and funeral services will be conducted at Fraternal hall at ten o'clock Saturday morning under the auspices of the lodge.
