Born Nov. 4, 1931, in Indianapolis, he was a 28-year resident of Las Vegas and retired from the casino industry. Charlie is survived by his wife, Irma; daughters, Pamela Mears (Tom) and Connie Gutierrez (Fred), both of Las Vegas, and Stacie Smith (Michael) of Mesa, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served in Korea. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner, 50- year member of Evergreen-Oriental Lodge free and accepted Masons, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite and the Murat Shrine in Indianapolis. Donations can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, c/o Zelzah Shrine Center, 2222 W. Mesquite Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89106. Private family services will be held.
