S. ANDERSON The funeral services over the remains of James S. ANDERSON were held at Bremerton, Washington, Saturday, April 15 at 2:30, and were largely attended, the Presbyterian minister officiating. The service was beautiful and impressive. The casket was under a canopy of flags and a flag was draped over the foot. The floral offerings were beautiful and from many friends. The choir sang "Nearer My God to Thee," "Some Day We'll Understand," "My Father Know" and "Abide With Me." Mr. KOPER read "Crossing the Bar." The old soldiers were bearers and a firing squad from the navy yard marched beside the casket. At the grave the G. A. R. officiated--the poor old men with tears in their eyes. The firing squad fired the last salute, three rounds, and the bugler sounded "taps." And then the old comrade was left there alone in the pine woods under the black clouds to await the resurrection.
