The deceased, who was a mechanical engineer, was a resident of Missoula, Montana. He had started for Southern California in hopes of benefitting his health. The change of altitude and climate, together with the strain and excitement of the journey, proved too much for his weakened constitution and he succumbed to heart failure while on the train He was accompanied on the sad journey by his wife and also by his father and mother. The remains were taken in charge by the L. D. Smith undertaking parlors and shipped to Missoula. An escort of Masons, of which order deceased was a member, accompanied the body to the depot Tuesday morning. The sorrowing ones are also grateful to the ladies of the B. of L.E. for attentions shown.
