Arnold were held at the Robert's Funeral Chapel last Monday afternoon at four o'clock. The large number of friends and acquaintances who gathered to pay their last respects to the deceased bore mute testimony of the high regard in which Mr. Arnold was held in the community. The Las Vegas Lodge of Elks and Eagles Aerie 1213 gathered at their lodge rooms and marched together to the chapel. The services were conducted by the Elks with the following officials: Exalted Ruler-Harley A. Harmon Esteemed Leading Knight - A. W. Ham Esteemed Lecturing Knight - O. K. Adcock Esteemed Loyal Knight - R.F. O'Brien Esquire - C.V.T. Gilbert Chaplain - John F. Fagan Inner Guard - O. C. Goodwin Tiler - W. R. Burns The casket was covered by a mass of flowers and the Elks formed a guard of honor during the carrying out of the beautiful Elks' funeral ceremony. "Abide with Me", "The Vacant Chair," "Somewhere the Sun is Shining" and "Face to Face" were rendered with beauty and feeling by Florence S. Doherty and A. T. Stone, with Miss Lucille Potter at the organ. Following the Elks' services, Rev. Leo C. Kline delivered a short but touching sermon, taking as his text, "Boast Not Thyself of the Morrow." Mayor W. C. German, Commissioner W. R. Anderson, Commissioner W. H. Elwell, A. S. Henderson, John F. Miller amd E. S. Shepherd acted as pall bearers. The remains were followed to Woodlawn cemetery by a large number of automobiles. Besides his immediate family and his mother, Mrs. George Mullen of this city, the deceased left surviving him, his twin brother, Charles Arnold, of Hamilton, Cal., and three sisters, Mrs. Adeline brotherson of Lindsburg, Kans; Mrs Adaline Brotherson of Lindsburg, Kans; Mrs. George Dennis of long beach, Cal. and Mrs. Margaret Lake of Fresno.
