Ashbaugh, a resident of Las Vegas for 46 years, died Saturday. He was 77. Born Oct. 9, 1911, in Cimarron, N.M., Ashbaugh came to Las Vegas in 1943 to work as a dealer at the Flamingo Hotel soon after it opened. His career in the gaming industry later included work at the Bingo Club (now the Sahara Hotel) and the original El Rancho Hotel. In 1969 he retired as a dealer and worked as a buyer for Clark County until he retired in 1979. Ashbaugh is survived by his wife, Jennieve; son, Marlin; and daughter, Beverly Ann Warr, all of Las Vegas; brother, Leonard of Raton, N.M., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
