HELEN M. BAILEY Saturday morning, December 28, 1912, at 11 a.m., the soul of Mrs. Helen M. BAILEY took its flight across the dark river into the unknown. The news came as a sad and unbelievable thing to all those who have known her. While it was known that her condition was serious, it hardly seemed within the bounds of possibility that life should go out so suddenly from one who has herself been the light of so many bright days here. The funeral services were held at the parlors of Cunningham & O'Connor, 1031 S. Grand avenue, Los Angeles, under the auspices of Southgate Chapter of the Eastern Star of Los Angeles, Mrs. W. B. MUNILY presiding as Worthy Matron. Many members of the various orders of which Mr. and Mrs. BAILEY are members were present; and the floral offerings were wonderful in their profusion and their beauty. Rev. Harry G. GRAY, formerly rector of Christ Church in this city, read the Episcopal service at the chapel and the burial service at the grave. Interment was at Evergreen cemetery and the Ladies Auxiliary of B. of L.E. took charge of the remains there. It is worthy of especial notice that the pall bearers were all both Masons and members of the B. of L.E. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church in this city by Rev. Paul B. JAMES Sunday afternoon at 4:30. The Masons, B. of L.E., Eastern Star and Ladies of the Macabees and all friends of the family are invited to attend.
