MRS. BEATTY DEAD

    The widow of the late M. M. BEATTY, after whom the town of Beatty =
was named, passed away at her home in Beatty recently.  The deceased was =
a full blood Indian and became the wife of the pioneer about 20 years =
ago.  Three surviving children are left, Maud and Frank being away =
attending an Indian school, and the youngest, Monte, being with his =
mother at the time of her death.
    The Beatty ranch was originally located about 35 years ago.  Beatty =
relocated it about 20 years ago as the third locator.
