BISHOP, who died on the 20th in Los Angeles at the age of 83, was born at Jamestown, N.Y. and went to Minnesota in 1871, moving to Dakota in 1872. She came to Nevada for the first time in 1897, spending some time at the Yount hotel at Goodsprings and at the Stewart ranch in Vegas. Afterwards, she took up land here and was one of our pioneer women. For the past two years she has lived in Los Angeles and was buried there last Sunday in the Hollywood cemetery, the funeral being attended by many old Nevada friends. Mrs. BISHOP, in spite of the many hardships incident to pioneer life, was a remarkably well preserved old lady--being able to read, write and thread her needle without glasses. She is survived by three sons and one daughter; also 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
