VETERAN DEAD

COL. "JIM" BROWN, FORMER VEGAS NEWSPAPER MAN

    Col. James BROWN, who for several years was identified with
newspaper work in Las Vegas, Greenwater and Caliente, died in New York
June 23d.  He had been in poor health for some time and went to the east
in the hope of securing relief, but in vain.
    He was well known throughout Nevada and Montana, where he had a wide
acquaintance and many friends who regret to hear of his death.
