L. BURCH, for several years past a resident of this city, died suddenly last Thursday evening, after a hard days work at the ice plant. Mr. BURCH complained of not feeling well during the day but did not quit work. Completing his day in the frigid temperature of the big building, he came out into the intense heat of the outer air and was immediately stricken with heart failure. He fell at the foot of the stairs where, within a few minutes, he was discovered by Frank WENGERT, still breathing, but unconscious. Everything possible was done for his relief but death ensued about 7:30. The deceased was well known in Vegas, having formerly been a conductor on the Las Vegas and Tonopah road. He first went to work at the ice plant the morning of the day on which he died. He leaves widow in Rock Island, Illinois.
