UNIVERSITY BENEFACTOR DIES IN LOS ANGELES



Mrs. W. A. CLARK, Jr., donor of the Catherine Hayes McManus scholarship

of $250 a year to the university, died this week in Los Angeles, according

to reports in Coast papers.  Mrs. CLARK took a great interest in the

University of Nevada as she was formerly a resident of Virginia City.  In

memory of her mother she established the scholarship three years ago and

she also contributed some valuable specimens of ore and other gifts to the

university.  She was a daughter-in-law of Senator CLARK of Montana. - Reno

Gazette.
