J. COLEMAN, in a fit of despondency following a debauch, Sunday morning, took a bottle of bichloride of mercury tablets (corrosive su??limate) about one hundred in number. His stomach refused to retain this great quantity of deadly poison and quickly relieved itself, but not before the system had absorbed enough of the awful stuff to cause death. But COLEMAN lingered several days. Friday morning early he escaped from the Las Vegas Hospital where he was being treated and went to the street. Here he soon fell in a convulsion. Bystanders carried the man upstairs to the hospital, but he soon died, in spite of all medical aid. COLEMAN came from Los Angeles. In the room he occupied at the Overland Hotel when he took the poison, he left a note asking that Kate BEESNAHAN, 1605 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, be notified. He is said to have relatives in Pennsylvania.
