Crowell, 81, of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, March 23, 2007. He was born Jan. 23, 1926, in Chelmsford, Mass., and was a resident of Las Vegas for 22 years. Royal was a retired sheet metal fabricator for Diamond Metal Works, owned by Henry and Shirley Sanchez. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Royal was preceded in death by his son, William Taylor; and sister, Marilyn Bedard. He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Crowell; daughter, Patricia Dery of Lowell, Mass.; sisters, Shirley Meehan of Lowell, Mass., and Ardelle Sheehy Caterino of Alhambra, Calif.; brothers, Edward Crowell of Granbury, Texas, and Don Crowell of Hudson, N.H.; stepdaughters, Lorelei Willis of Troy, Vt., Wanda Lawton of Perth, Ontario, Canada, Lorena Buck of Orleans, Vt., and Belinda Smith of Stanstead, Quebec, Canada; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Monday, March 26, at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway.
