When about 16 miles out the car was driven too near the edge of the fill and turned turtle, pinning CUNNINGHAM underneath it. JOHNSON, whose hand was broken, managed to tip the car off of the body of CUNNINGHAM just as Frank WAIT and Ernest LAKE were coming along en route to St. Thomas. They immediately gave the two men all the aid that could be given and brought them back to Las Vegas and to Las Vegas Hospital, where they were turned over to medical treatment. On the way in CUNNINGHAM returned to consciousness but did not have much to say. They were taken to the hospital about two a.m. and Dr. MILDREN was notified. At about 8 o'clock CUNNINGHAM died of concussion of the brain. He was buried Wednesday afternoon from the Roberts undertaking parlors. Mr.WAIT informed the Review man that the men were driving quite slow at the time of the accident as he was just behind them and was also driving quite slow. CUNNINGHAM was well known in this city and had a large acquaintance among the old-time miners. He was a quiet, unassuming man, and was always working when opportunity offered. Johnson is also well known and is the engineer at the borax mine. He had just bought the flivver the day of the accident. It was an unfortunate occurance.
