The derailed engine was lying across the track when Santa Fe train No. 3 came upon it. It is reported that DAVIS was instantly killed by being caught under the engine. DALZELL suffered a broken arm and other injuries and was removed to the hospital in Los Angeles. Engineer DALZELL is well known in Vegas, having resided here for several years prior to moving to San Bernardino. DAVIS, the dead fireman, was also at one time running out of Vegas. All trains were delayed several hours by the wreck.
