LAS VEGAS SUN - 7/14/1989

	John M. Erling, 91, of Henderson, died Wednesday in Henderson.
  He was born March 18(16), 1899, in Reinbeck, Iowa.  An eight-year resident, 
he was a heavy equipment shop foreman in Bismarck, N. D., a farmer and 
rancher in Southshore, S.D., a World War II Marine Corps veteran, a lifetime 
member of Masonic Lodge in Aberdeen, S.D., a member of BPO Elks in 
Bismarck, the American Legion, Forty at Eight, and VFW in Watertown, S.D.
	He is survived by [omitted].
	Memorial services are pending.  Palm Mortuary, Henderson, is 
handling arrangements.
