THOMAS (Special Correspondence.) St. Thomas, Feb. 25, 1919 - James WALSH, a prospector who has a number of claims situated about 20 miles northeast of St. Thomas, was found dead in a small wash about forty feet below his cabin by Geo. Luke WHITNEY on February 20. Mr. WHITNEY, who has a ranch in the neighborhood of the Walsh claims, went up to visit him and found no one at home. He started looking for him and found him in the wash below. He had been there between a week and ten days as the snow had covered him twice. WALSH was 68 years of age and was an old Indian fighter, having served with General Reno on the Little Big Horn. A corner's jury went from St. Thomas to the remains, and held an inquest. The jury consisted of Albert STRASSER, Robert CHADBURN, L. R. ARNOLD, Levi SYPHUS, Alfred SYPHUS, Carson BUFFINGTON. Judge MacDERMOTT acted as coronor.
