F. HEINECKE, of broncho-pneumonia. Mr. HEINECKE was stricken with the influenza just a week before his death, and in spite of every care and the heroic struggle he made, passed away. Funeral services were held in Las Vegas at the undertaking parlors Saturday afternoon at four o'clock, and were largely attended. Rev. W. H. ROGERS conducted the services and delivered an eloquent and touching eulogy of the deceased as "A Prince among men." The music was beautiful and appropriate. The remains were taken to Los Angeles for interment. News of the death of Mr. HEINECKE's mother in Los Angeles was received Saturday morning and services for the mother and son together will be held in Los Angeles. Mr. HEINECKE was born in Topeka, Kansas, April 6, 1885, and had he survived two days longer he would have reached the age of 34 years. In his native state during the years of his early manhood he was in the employ of the Cudahy Packing Company. He came west to California in 1906, and was in the employ of the Pacific Electric Railway until 1914 when he came to Las Vegas. During his first years here he was employed in the storehouse of the Salt Lake road, later becoming identified with David Farnsworth in the ownership of the Troy Steam Laundry and Cleaning works of which he was manager at the time of his death. On May 22, 1916, he took as his wife Miss Marie Thomas who is left to mourn the loss of a loving, kindly and true husband. But few achieve the position of respect and confidence in which Mr. HEINECKE was held by his associates. As a friend and companion he was kindly, genial and true. As a business man, the soul of honor and integrity. Such as ??? can be illy spared from our community. Besides his widow, the deceased left surviving him a brother, Elmer HEINECKE, who is in the service of the country, stationed at Camp Kearney, and a sister, Mrs. Elmer POTTER of Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. POTTER and the brother were in Vegas to attend the funeral services here, and with the widow accompanied the remains to Los Angeles. The deep sympathy of the entire community goes out to those who mourn in this double bereavement, the loss of the husband and mother so quickly followed by the death of the mother, whose unfeeble condition could not bear the blow of her son's untimely death.
