C. MC CAFFREY FOUND DEAD FROM HEART FAILURE TUESDAY LAST. James L. C. MC CAFFREY, a well known mining man of Goodsprings, died alone in his cabin on the night of December 6-7. He was not seen about the place as usual Tuesday morning. Henry ROBBINS and Mr. DYKE went to the house to investigate and found all still and the door locked. Breaking into the house they found MC CAFFREY's body in the bed. There was every indication that he had prepared himself for bed as usual and had retired the night before in his usual health. Judge LILLIS was called from Vegas and an inquest was held, Henry ROBBINS, John A. EGGER and W. E. STROMER being impaneled as jurors. The verdict returned after investigation of all the circumstances was that the deceased died on the night of Dec. 6-7 of heart failure. A brother of the deceased who lives at San Bernardino was notified and came to Goodsprings the next day. The body was buried in the Goodsprings cemetery. Mr. MC CAFFREY was a native of Nebraska and about 59 years of age. He had for some time been in rather poor health and his death was not entirely unexpected. He came to Goodsprings something over four years ago. He was a kindly and companionable man and had the regard and respect of many friends.
