MATTEUCCI:  In this city, Thursday, February 5, 1920, Mrs. Mary MATTEUCCI,

of influenza pneumonia.

    It is with regret that we chronicle the death of this good woman.  Mrs.

MATTEUCCI was born in Genova, Italy, and came to California when a young

woman.  In Gilroy she met and was married to Vincent MATTEUCCI.  They were

among the first to cast their lot in Las Vegas.  Six children were born to

them, Henry, Victor, Antoine, Mrs. Angelina CASSONOVA of Lucca, Italy and

Danvella.  Another daughter, Mrs. Theresa SPARICONA died in San Diego,

December 5, 1919, and since her death Mrs. MATTEUCCI has cared for her

little daughter Lucille, two years old.  She also several years ago adopted

a little boy, Willis MATTEUCCI.

    Mrs. MATTEUCCI's life was one of helpfulness and she will be greatly

missed, not only by her family, but by many friends and neighbors.

    A short service was held at the chapel this afternoon at 4:30 and the

remains were taken to San Juan, San Benito county, California, where

interment will take place.
