He had been ill for the past month, having suffered a stroke of apoplexy. His sister, Miss Abby MAHONEY, came from Salt Lake to care for him during his illness. Michael MAHONEY was 79 years old and came to Salt Lake 40 years ago from County Cork, Ireland. For the past 17 years he has been in and around Las Vegas. He evidentally not only always had in mind, but put into practice the words of the peot, "Let me live in a house by the side of the road and be a friend to man," as everyone called him "friend." A short service was held on Wednesday when his remains were taken to Salt Lake by his sister Miss Abby MAHONEY and niece Mrs. BRESSINGHAM. The funeral was held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the Church of the Divine Savior. Interment was made in Calvary Cemetery. Miss MAHONEY was deeply touched by the many floral offerings sent by the Las Vegas friends of the deceased.
