    MEXICAN EMPLOYEE DIES FROM R.R. ACCIDENT



    Jose NATIVIDA, a section hand, who was employed by the L.A. & St. L Ry,

suffered an accident which resulted in his death on the 8th instant.

    The accident was caused, as shown in the reports of the coroner's jury,

by the derailing of the motor car upon which he and six of his companions

were riding.  A sprung axle was the cause, it being three-fourths of an inch

too narrow in guage to adhere to the rails on the 8 per cent curb grade at

the curve where the accident occurred.
