He had died at his prospecting camp, a sacrifice to the search for the previous metals to which he had devoted much of his life. The coroner of Yucca, Arizona, investigated the case and found that death was caused by heart failure brought on by the excessive heat of that region. "Larry," as he was called by all his friends, left Nelson, where he has been mining for many years, on May 6th. He wrote to his friend, Harry WEINECKE, that Matt SAMMON, another old Nelson miner, and himself had made some locations that looked promising. This was the last word, so far as known, that his Nelson friends had from him. In a letter to the Age, Harry WEINECKE says: "Larry will be greatly missed by many friends in the prospecting game. He was 66 years of age, and died in the harness. He was always hopeful, cheerful and charitable. God bless him." A manly and fitting tribute from man to man. The Editor of the Age knew Larry well and loved him for his kindly qualities. We join in the "God bless him," of his friend.
