J. M. ULLOM PASSED AWAY IN POMONA Benjamin F. RANSFORD, Civil War veteran and prominent member of the Shilo Association, died at 2:15 o'clock this afternoon at his home at 537 West Holt Avenue. He was 80 years of age and had lived in Pomona for twenty-seven years. Mr. RANSFORD was a member of the Vicksburg Post G. A. R. and had been prominent in G.A.R. affairs here more than twenty-five years. He was one of the few surviving members of the Pomona Shilo Association. He leaves his wife and two daughers, Mrs. Pearl R. MC CULLOUGH of Pomona and Mrs. Mabel R. ULLOM of Las Vegas, Nevada. The funeral will be held at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Todd chapel. Rev. John HALL, pastor of the first Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Pomona cemetery where the G.A.R. will have charge of the services. Mr. RANSFORD had a host of friends here and was admired by them all. He has been in poor health for several months but continued to be cheerful in spite of advancing age.
