THE TOLL OF DEATH



HOFFMAN - At Needles, California, A. H. HOFFMAN, of influenza pneumonia.

The remains were interred at Needles on Tuesday, November 5th.  The

deceased is well remembered as a former resident of Las Vegas.  He removed to

Needles about three years ago and at the time of his death was in the 

undertaking business.  It is said that he cared for the bodies of more than one

hundred victims of the influenza and that the over[illegible] so weakened him 

that he became himself a victim.
